Udta Punjab to Release in Pakistan: Udta Punjab is banned in Pakistan says the report , Udta Punjab upcoming movie by the director Abhishek Chaubey which has recently released and is doing a good business of Rs 330 million is being banned in Pakistan basically two major provinces Punjab and Sindh. It will not be released in KPK and Balochistan says the report.
This movie is also facing lot of controversy in India but has been finally released in India on June 17th of this month. It has been passed from Bombay High Court as the Court has asked Indian Central Board of Film Certification to reduce all the vulgar language asnd scenes from the film. It had 89 cuts to only one scene earlier where the character was seen urinating in the film.
In Pakistan it has been banned because of its Vulgar Language and abusive language .The Movie did not get its clearance by members Khalid Zia and Kanwal Nauman both being member of Punjab Censor Board. We also asked the importer of the film to present it in front of the board . The full board which is under the chairmanship of Zeba Muhammad Ali and also Vice Chairmanship of Usman Peerzada and they also include many members of the board to make the final decision says Kanwal . Kanwal said that in Punjab they have their own culture and the vulgar and abusive language used in the film is not allowed so we will not allow the movie to run in Pakistan .He said that in Indian Punjab it may fit and one can see the film but not in our Pakistan.
Also it was said by the Chairman of Censor Board Sindh, Mr Fakhar – e – Alam that importers of the movie will have to mute all the abusive language of the film which is used so often. There will no political ground to review this movie as they have their own laws which are related to pass the movie through the censor board. .
